Each poet must earn a total of 6 "performance" points in order to
slam-off against all other qualifiers June 1st..
Points are easy to make, if you are a regular attendee of the San Diego Slam!
Here's how it works:
    3 points earned for the first-place poet of each slam between January and May 2003;
  2 points earned for the second-Place poet of each slam between January and May 2003;
   1 point earned for every other poet who scores a cumulative 50.0 or above

at each slam between January and May 2003;
Additionally,
each poet must agree to judge 2 slams; one judging
should be done before June 1, and the other any time before West Coast Regionals in July.
One last thing.. once you have qualified you will not slam again until the night of June 1st. However, we will gladly use you as 2nd-round emcee! Or you can judge. Either way you'll still get some mic time without actually slamming. Or you can just hang out and size up the rest of the season's competition.
That's it.. now may the best poets take it!
